Pain. We all endure it each and everyday, some more than others. Everybody handles pain in a different way. Some, hide the pain with a reassuring smile. They come across dozens and countless people with a fake smile plastered onto their faces. The blind people with their insincere emotions, hiding the pain that is stifled inside their hearts, yet they go on, they go on to live their everyday lives, hoping the pain will soon be over. Truth is: They're insecure. Some people hide their emotional pain by burying it, almost as if it was acting like a shield. They shield the emotional pain by bringing physical pain to themselves, hoping it would mask the emotional pain protruding through their hearts, like a thumping heart beating out of its chest. What they don't realize, they're only bringing upon more pain to themselves. As the sharp blade hits their skin, soft drops of crimson blood will begin protruding. It feels good, its pleasurable. What they're not able to realize? Its only the matter of adding on more pain to endure. As they grow old, the cuts may heal, but they leave permanent scars, reminding them of the pain they once sustained. Some people take their pain out on others. They feel the need to bring others down, making them feel superior over the others. With every hurtful word they project to another, it only makes the pain grow. You may not see it, but as they bring you down with their scarring words, everything they say comes dripping with pain. Pain and regret ...
