A series of Taster Events were held to raise awareness of the Proud to be Different Project. The first workshop included an introduction to animation, Islamic art, sewing and making clothing, digital photography, community singing, stencil and spray paint art and working with words. Then after establishing participants preferences, we introduced making journals, collage, making short films, photography and animation. These Taster Events allowed people to come together and interact, finding ways to communicate beyond words and despite language barriers.

The Handmade Music event series returns to Brooklyn, NY showcasing a talented collection of sonic experimentalists at Galapagos Art Space. A musical sewing machine, electro-country, the sound of blinking lights, and experimental gestural controllers were all on hand for the event.
