So I have been working over the past 3 months, just slow going and not a lot of viewable work that can be shown in a video. Or, as in the case of this video, it's REALLY hard to film. Pretty much everything has been moving towards version 2. The CONTROL software that runs the user interface and on screen display needed a complete rewrite for the new 16 button interface vs the old 8 button interface. I took the chance to improve the control logic behind everything, as well as improving the proto-threading of the different functions such as the OSD, power logging, and climate control. I have one of my prototype gloves (right hand) sewn that you can see in the video. This guy consists of a Lilypad arduino and conductive thread. It talks to the CONTROL arduino via I2C, my favorite protocol. It takes the place of some I2C expanders I was using for early testing. I ditched the expanders because the debouncing code I was using added a lot of overhead and was slowing things down quite a lot. By moving the debounce code to the lilypads I freed up quite a bit of code operating time. Plus, the lilypads are much easier to work with when sewing them to the gloves. There is a stand in for the other glove, which I can't sew because it has to be worn to sew it, and I'm left handed meaning I can't stitch my left glove. The left 'glove' is done by a bank of buttons connected to another arduino. Electrically identical, just done in wires and buttons rather than conductive thread and 'touch ...

To sew more sewing tutorials visit Grosgrain: www.grosgrainfabulous.blogspot.com Do you have a funky little foot that looks all stubby like the front is missing? If so, you might have a button foot which will definitely help you when sewing many buttons all at once. Don't sew buttons on by hand, try the button hole foot. My video cuts off at the end before I get to finish my sentence (my battery died) but all I did was cut the threads off the button.
