Namaste!! Thank you for watching our video! All projects used cotton and cotton blends. My girls enjoy watching me sew and so, this summer, I decided to get them more involved by working on some fun sewing projects while teaching them a few simple techniques of sewing. Before they sew, we go over safety...put scissors, needles and pins in their proper place BEFORE doing anything else. Sewing by hand, in my opinion is very important to be taught before using a machine. Straight stitching, blanket stitching, rolled hem, tacking, etc... I feel sewing is an important skill for both girls and boys because we all wear clothing and sometimes, clothing needs mending. Sewing is a craft, a skill that can save you time, money and also give you a sense of pride and accomplishment. Sewing can open the door to a whole new perspective on life. ;) Thank you for viewing!
