As a Staunton, Va, native, I feel compelled to pay homage to its favorite native sons -- The Statler Brothers -- with this nontraditional interpretation of their country classic "Flowers On The Wall." I have fond memories in the early 1980s of spending July 4 in Gypsy Hill Park watching the celebrated quartet perform their annual free "Happy Birthday USA" concert. Don Reid was one of my American Legion baseball coaches. Good times. -- Ty Walker
