butterfly animation - the sewing, stitch & patchwork art of textile artist John Jones.here are some patchwork ( wearable street art) picture story art coats from his virtual art gallery - www.jjgallery.com. his art explores many different media, this is a clip of virtual sewing a butterfly animation based on an early artwear butterfly sleeveless coat. The technique of John's wearable art is individual pieces of soft coloured patchwork leather stitched together to form the images, additional sewing machine work is used as a thin pencil line to add detail and bring the piece to life. The thread is used to paint the fine detail.The butterfly wings were originally cut from a single piece like black lace and laid on to different colours.There is a very strong element of stitch and sewing in the art work which is now also being developed virtually by John with 3d animation.
